I have been attending the HBCU Awareness Foundation Fairs since 2018. The HBCU Awareness Foundation has provided great exposure for PVAMU in the southern states of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The value has been tremendous for recruitment at PV. The fair has allowed me to establish some presence in the southern states outside of the region to provider another HBCU family institution option for the students of the region. What makes this college fair unique is the span of the territory that it encompasses. The inclusion of the tri-state region of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, not only strengthens the position of the surrounding HBCU institutions but shows solidarity in the HBCU community as a whole.
